“When I was a child I wished to become a stylist, I was spending my days drawing “models”, especially very tall Girlies dressed with balloon-skirts, boleros, bows –we were in the 80’s!-
And than there were THE SHOES, pages and pages of drawings of high heels shoes of every shape and colors. I was so much into all this that for my eleventh birthday my mother gave me as present a dressmaker’s bust, which I was covering with colored patches and meters of Tulle. But I never learnt how to sew! And I was also not so interested in it, what I liked was drawing those shoes and those blowing skirts, and I still love it.
In my paintings there are living girlies with red airs, vintage-style boots and balloon-sleeved dresses and skirts and SM leather masks.
This Girlies are mysterious, silent and quite often good friends with anthropomorphic animals, also very silent.
Sincerely I don’t understand from where this fixation for shoes and bows comes from, since I spend my life basically dressed in destroyed jeans, sweatshirts and sport shoes.
Probably in my illustrations I like to create a world which doesn’t exist, but in which I would like to live in. I imagine myself travelling on the back of a magic three-eyed white bear or with a deer of the Enchanted Forest, and this includes also the clothes, I see myself……….well, I see these Girlies, dressed like a bunch of SadoMaso Alices in Wonderland going to a Versailles’s ball.”
